The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is the sponsor of the project. The project goals are to: (1) produce a framework for Texas freight transportation system in 2055 and (2) develop a set of rail planning recommendations that will be beneficial to TxDOT. Specific divisions or groups that will benefit from this project include: TxDOTs International Relations Office, Transportation Planning and Programming Division, Rail Division, and border and coastal districts.
