Ships Versus Shore
註釋Ships Versus Shore is a state-by-state survey of naval engagements in the South during the Civil War. The author narrates specific actions along riverways and coasts, then follows each description with a short review of what can be found today when the area is visited. What remains of the forts is noted as well as nearby preserved historic sites that were part of the struggle. The text is complemented by 130 photos and engravings. These illustrations show the various defensive strategies developed throughout the war in maintaining the positions against the forces charged with capturing them.
