The goal of the project was to determine whether market gardeningconstitutes a viable development option for Native communities innorthern Alberta. The focus in this report is on a three acremarket garden with possible expansion of the acreage when theoperation is well established and successful. The paper looks atthe economics of market gardening, the markets, organizationalstructures, funding and assistance programmes, manpower needs andtraining.
