註釋Johan Mattsson (d.1701) and Anders Mattson (fl.1647-1696), probably brothers, immigrated (at different times) from Sweden to Fort Chris- tiana (now Wilmington), Delaware. Johann had made an earlier voyage there in 1643 and immigrated in 1654; Anders immigrated in 1655. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Mattson) lived in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Montana and elsewhere.
