註釋This report summarizes the findings in a companion project report which compares the characteristics and release risks associated with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal inmates. It focuses on the Nuffield Risk Prediction System. It also presents the results of efforts to develop and test alternate risk prediction systems. It compares these alternative risk prediction systems with the Nuffield system. Finally it assesses all the statistical prediction systems in terms of the system used in the past by Parole Board members to grant or deny parole. In particular, it compares the parole decisions that were actually made by Parole Board officials with the decisions that would have been made if such decisions had been based solely on risk prediction scores.
