Two Notebooks on Egyptian Archaeology
註釋Two notebooks on Egyptian archaeology authored by the collector Robert Burnard in 1915 (black notebook, notes on lectures by Sir Matthew Flinders Petrie) and 1919 (red notebook, notes on lectures by Margaret Alice Murray). The notebooks are filled with notes written in longhand in ink and pencil, sketches and drawings of objects, hieroglyphic studies, and glued-in pieces of tracing paper with traced drawings. Together, they provide an intimate glimpse into the teaching of Egyptology at University College, London around the time of WWI, before the advent of slides and photocopies.--Curator's description.
