Here is how the rabbit and colored eggs became a part of the Easter celebration. The story subtly teaches children about acceptance, generosity, and appreciation of the differences in others.
The people in this far-off land of Oohs and Ahas needed a special way to celebrate Easter, so they went to see the Grand Wise Man. Easter was an important day because it brought attention to Christ's resurrection into Heaven, or His rising from the dead. It was also the time to rejoice that another Spring had arrived.
Now the Wise Man must find an appropriate way to represent rebirth, new life, forgiveness and peace and be able to spread this throughout the land. He decided to ask the animals to help him decide what to do.
Each animal viewed this job differently. Why couldn't the hen or the pig or the wolf get involved? What was the rabbit's true gift? Why were the rabbit and colored eggs chosen to represent Easter?
Children ages 3 to 10 can follow along this journey as the Wise Man searches for a special way to celebrate Christ's resurrection and the rebirth of spring. Children find out why the rabbit is the ideal animal to express the love and hope of Easter. This book will enlighten children as they prepare for Easter and its celebration. Original color artwork.
