A widowed Buenos Aires artist decides to celebrate her forty-ninth birthday by spending the summer alone in a remote seaside village. Tomorrow I'll Say, Enough is Alejandra's "apprenticeship of solitude", in which she tries to escape the family and social pressures which have restricted her for so long. With humor and irony, she describes the visits by her three daughters who descend upon her with their emotional and financial demands. Ultimately, it is her daughters' greed which prompts Alejandra to make some decisions about her future.
