註釋ABSTRACT: This paper has been prepared with the intention of sharing the experience of PDM in implementing its electronic documents' management for its Malay and literature collection. Thetotal configuration is also provided. Electronic documents' management would be the solution for libraries to improve on their retrieval and storage of research materials in order to provide effective and efficient services for their users as well as through networking when new products and services are introduced. However, embarking on new technology such as integrated document inaging and multimedia requires good planning to ensure successful implementation to allow users to explore the capability of the system to support their research requirements. Also discussed are major problems faced by PDM in introducing this new technology. These include training, staffing and organizational structures, technological operations, conversions and copyright problems.
