Gehend, field recordings 1 - 3: Helen Mirra
註釋The keen sparseness of the sculpture and language works of Helen Mirra (b. Rochester NY, 1970; lives in Cambridge MA) is now brought into another form. Mirra spent the summer of 2010 walking in the areas surrounding Bonn, Zurich, and Berlin, producing a record in the guise of printmaking. Through the course of the day, approximately once per hour, she selected a material along the way-- for instance a tree branch, a section of cobblestone, or the surface of a cut tree trunk--and made a print on raw linen, either with ink or with oil pastel, on site. The book is made with the same components that comprise a solo exhibition which will travel to Bonner Kunstverein, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, and Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich in 2011/2012. With essays by Christina Vgh, director, Bonner Kunstverein, and Yukio Lippit, Professor of Japanese Art, Harvard University, as well as a dialogue between Helen Mirra and Peter Eleey, curator, MoMA PS1, New York.
