註釋The eight-year experience (1975-82) shows that the project is economically viable as a self-financing unit. production cost analysis indicates that it is possible to introduce an estate pattern of management into organised smallholdings and obtain a similar level of production efficiency compared to that of commercial estates. Since the finance of the scheme are managed by the sponsoring authority, efforts could be made to recover large amounts of the development loans from the participants when rubber prices are high. The income generated by productive work of the participant-families compares favourably with earnings of rural people like FELDA settler families and estate tapper families. So long as the provision of countinous employment and the generation of a reseasonable income are the objectives of the land development scheme, the incentive wage concept approach seems favourable.
