The Forgotten Bridge
註釋This book is a history of the settlement of the Mount Crawford District. It details the exploration and surveying of the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Ranges against the backdrop of the issues and problems of establishing the colony of South Australia. It describes the journeys of the overlanders who brought stock from the eastern states to South Australia in the early days of the new colony. It documents the lives and circumstances of the early settlers at Mount Crawford who were pioneers in farming the land, who prospered in their endeavours (or not) and moved on to other places. In the process they also contributed to the growth and development of the local communities and left behind a legacy.
