John Parker Account Book
註釋Account book of Charlestown, Massachusetts, potter John Parker (1725-1765), recording credits and debits for earthenware, mugs, and pots he sold, and for his services as clerk, between 1747 and 1764. He accepted payment in cash or goods including sugar, indigo, and cloth. His customers mainly lived in Boston and surrounding towns, but John Parker fulfilled orders from Connecticut, as well. There are also verses in an unknown hand written on a number of pages, and a passage by John Parker's son, Daniel Parker (born 1762), who briefly describes his time as a soldier in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The last pages in the volume contain autobiographical notes of John Parker, including the date of his marriage in 1748 to Abigail Center, and a list of their children's birth and death dates, as well as dates they had the measles and received smallpox inoculation.
