The poetic book THE WINGS OF CREATION / LAS ALAS DE LA CREACIÓN / 創造の翼 by the poet Yaxkin Melchy Ramos-Yupari is a book of Christian poetry written with the guidance of the Holy Spirit in Tsukuba, Japan and the Love of Christ Church of Tsukuba. In it there are poems that put the natural landscape of this region of the world in dialogue with the message of Christ and the praise of God from an Asian experience. The book itself is a poetic book and spiritual testimony that includes the author's testimony about his conversion to Christianity and the appreciation of these poems by members of the Tsukuba church. The poems have been translated by a variety of people into English and Japanese, some of them lay people, some others renowned poets and others believers from the church community. Its content has resonated in Spanish, English and Japanese among its readers. The Peruvian poet Pedro Favaron has described the spirit of these poems in the following way:
Writing poems like this requires great sensitivity, humility, and courage. May the flowers and birds greet you in brotherhood, recognizing us all in Christ, children of the same heaven and the same earth, children of the same breath of the Spirit that encourages and embraces us all, outside, and inside!
Pedro Favaron
Cantos del peregrino
Señor, escucha mi oración, atiende a mi clamor; no cierres tus oídos a mi llanto.
Salmos 39:12
I
Tú sabes que voy a escribirte
y pondrás calidez
a los pálpitos de mi corazón
Esta noche
iré desnudo
a encontrarte
en el río
que no tiene nombre
en mi pensamiento
II
Iré sin frío
sin el engaño
de la vanidad
insatisfecha
ni el rincón solitario
y oscuro
Sin la mentira
del mundo,
cortando la ilusión
con tu nombre,
relumbrando en todas
las cosas
hermanas de mi corazón
III
Tú sabes que voy a escribirte
lo has sabido
desde que creaste estrellas
desde hace millones de años
Sabías que miraría tu luz
que no tiene tiempo
y tu eternidad que vuelve
a nacer en este
instante
IV
Dámelo todo, Dios mío
tú que escuchas
el amor del hombre
en la luz
de la luz y la oscuridad
Tú, quien soy
para que viva en ti
sin término de años
sin principio de eras
V
Que tu fuerza
limpie mi camino
y nutra la semilla
que algún día
sea un baile gracioso
de primavera
VI
Ayúdame a conocer el amor
para encontrar
tu amor
en esta gota
en donde todos
los colores brillan
y la música
es infinita
como las olas
VII
Tú que lo sabes
y yo que voy
peregrinando.

Pilgrim Songs
“Hear my prayer, Lord,
listen to my cry for help;
do not be deaf to my weeping.
I dwell with you as a foreigner,
a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
Psalm 39:12
I
You know I’m going to write to you
and you will put warmth
to the beats of my heart
Tonight
I will go naked
to find you
in the river
that has no name
in my thoughts
II
I will go without cold
without the deceit
of vanity
dissatisfied
not even the lonely corner
and dark
Without the lie
of the world,
cutting the illusion
with your name,
shining in all
things
sisters of my heart
III
You know I’m going to write to you
you have known
since you created stars
for millions of years
You knew I would look at your light
he who doesn’t have time
and your eternity returns
to be born in this
instant
IV
Give it all to me, my God
you who listens to
the love of man
in the light
of light and darkness
You, who am I
so that I live in you
without term of years
without beginning of eras
V
May your strength
clear my path
and nourish the seed
that someday
be a gracious dance
of spring
VI
Help me know love
to find
your love
in this drop
where all
the colors shine
and music
is infinite
like the waves
VII
You who knows
and I’m going
pilgriming.
