註釋Abstract: An exploration of the role of nutrition in preventive health care is written for advanced students and practitioners of community, therapeutic, and clinical nutrition. The intent is to help nutritionists to understandthe multiple influences on nutrition and the ways in which policies and programs can be affected to aid health promotion. The focus is on the interrelationships of social, environmental and political factors, as well as the physical aspects of food and health; the issues addressed range from recent changes in nutrition ideas, various aspects of nutrition education, and the development of nutrition policy, to the nutritional status of the American populace, the inadequacies to which it is prone, and the risks associated with overconsumption. Other topics include the integration of nutrition information into health care delivery systems; the roles of the Federal government and the media in nutrition education; medical school curricula; and administration of nutrition programs such as the Food Stamp Program and WIC.
