Research was directed towards modifying Test Method No. Calif. 338 entitled, "Determination of Cement Content in Cement Treated Aggregates by the Method of Titration." While this method is usable for lime treated soils, some improvement in the method was required to refine the test. Some of the modifications made were: shortened the time required for test; determined the effect of curing time; used a flocculating agent to more easily detect the titration end point, developed a method for more accurately establishing a calibration curve and eliminated use of a chart for the initial and secondary addition of acid. A brief statistical study performed with the new method indicated that the test is reliable and precise.
