The Shame of the Son
註釋Smuggler's Cove is a small, eclectic town. Isolated and beautiful. Korina has lived her entire life there. She is young and attractive and cares nothing for the world--her only care is for Silas, an unusual new arrival. Silas swears to Korina he'll return after med school, but four years turn into six, then ten. Then he vanishes. Silas, the once-brilliant surgeon, loses it all. Out of work, he now lives as a bum, forsaken and friendless, a burnt-out alcoholic. His only ally is writing. At last, broke and exhausted, he's finished his work. But, when his editor steals and publishes his manuscript, becoming famous, Silas is done with life. Only a promise he made to a girl twenty years ago keeps him alive. A promise to return to Smuggler's Cove.
