註釋The forms in which mercury is present in the atmosphere, land and freshwater systems are reviewed and related to deposition and other exchange processes that influence the distribution of mercury in the environment. A seven compartment model for mercury transport is formulated. Estimates are made of compartment sizes, transfer rate constants, representative mercury concentrations and input rates from man-made sources. The exposure commitment method is introduced and applied to the model system.
