May papers consist of veteran correspondence, an obituary dated 30 October 1994, and a memoir dated 15 October 1993 entitled Task Force Welborn CP after the death of General Rose. The correspondence thanks May for sending the memoir and comments further on physical manifestations of battle stress. The obituary for a fellow officer of the 3rd Armored Division, 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, Headquaters, 2nd Battalion Captain John Ward Metcalfe gives some details of their combined service. The memoir describes the action leading up to and following the death of Major General Maurice Rose who had sworn to be in Paderborn by evening and recounts the physical effects of battle stress on May.
