Henry Rayburn (ca. 1730-1792) was born in northern Ireland. He immigrated to America, ca. 1745 and settled in Montgomery County, Virginia. His son, John Rayburn (ca. 1750-1808), served in the Virginia militia during the Revolutionary War. He and his wife, Jean McLaren, had seven children, 1768-1783. Descendants listed, chiefly some descendants of their sons, Henry Rayburn (1768-1852) and John Rayburn (b. 1775) lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Missouri and elsewhere.
