註釋Ancestry of Marjorie Harland (Barker) Dietrich (b.1921), who married Bernard Joseph Dietrich in 1942 in East Detroit, Michigan, and later moved to California. Marjorie was a daughter of English immigrant John Mildmay Barker (1884-1982), a widower who married Thlema Elmina Hoover. John Mildmay Barker was a son of Harry Claud Barker (1857- 1935) and Florence Mary Harland of Lancaster County, England. Thelma Elmina Hoover was a daughter of Estella May Thompson and her first husband, David Arthur Hoover (1875-1967). David Arthur Hoover was probably a direct descendant of German immigrant Johannes Huber, who immigrated in 1728 via Philadelphia to Lancaster County, Pennsyl- vania. Estella May Thompson was a direct descendant of immigrant James Thompson (1635-1750), who immigrated from England to Ireland, married Jane Humbles, and in 1677 immigrated to New Jersey. Insofar as possible, the ancestral lineages of these Hoover, Thompson, Barker and Harland progenitors are traced in the United States as well as in England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland and elsewhere. In the United States, most ancestry lived in Michigan, Onio, Pennsyl- vania, New Jersey and elsewhere. In the British Isles, some lineages are traced back to 1066 A.D. and earlier in Normandy, while the Huber line is traced back to about 1185 A.D. in Germany and Switzerland.
