The Fitzgeralds of County Waterford, Ireland
註釋The FitzGerald family arrived in Ireland at the time of the Norman invasion and eventually became one of the most powerful families on that island. Maurice Fitzgerald (1790-1870?) of County Waterford descended from this illustrious family. In 1824 he married Mary Carey (1800-1880?) who was also of Ring, County Waterford. The Carey family was also an old Norman family which had originally gone by the name of Carew. Maurice and Mary were the parents of nine children. In the early 1850s they immigrated to America and settled in Wisconsin. Descendants live in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and other parts of the United States.
