註釋
This report shows how Australian rules football can be deployed as a means to mobilise engagement in addressing violence against women and girls. It presents learnings from two primary prevention programs that operate at different stages of development and different points of scale. The 'Power to End Violence Against Women' program targets male Year 10 school pupils at school, and was developed by the Port Adelaide Football Club with Centacare Catholic Family Services and the Government of South Australia. The 'NO MORE' campaign is a community-based program to reduce family and domestic violence across the Northern Territory, founded by sports commentator Charlie King and supported by CatholicCare NT, and linked to community and sporting events. The report discusses the literature on primary prevention initiatives, reviews the two sport-based initiatives, and presents recommendations for their development.
