Nasty. Unpredictable. Nonsense.
註釋Nasty. Unpredictable. Nonsense. is a collection chock full of surrealist, image heavy poems and flash fictions. The confessional material explores parts of humanity which are deemed too taboo or inappropriate to discuss in a “polite” society. The collection explores themes of queerness, gender, identity, theology and religion, disillusionment, pervasive cycles of drug abuse, and coming of age in a technological era, and additionally, blends a variety of genres, such as horror, sci-fi, fables, and magical realism, to reject the notion that darkness and happiness are contrasting realities which cannot live harmoniously together. The collection promotes self-analysis and encourages readers to reflect on areas of shame, hurt, and trauma to find steady footing to move forward from pains of the past. The collection is divided into three parts: Nasty focuses on fear, mourning, and harsh, hard to confront realities. Unpredictable highlights love, introspection, inspiration, and critiques a society that demonizes exploration. Nonsense promotes recovery, stillness, acceptance, and asserts that finding community leads to solidarity and serenity.
