This study was designed to determine whether salt displacement and subsequent oxidation of reduced iron associated with the clay fraction of sediment from a circumneutral wetland could result in acidification. The wetland chosen for this study was Normans Lagoon, a wetland located on the upper Murray River, near Albury, N.S.W.
