Deals with conservative and liberal attitudes concerning the immigration and the assimilation of Jews. Describes the extreme-right movements from Istóczy to Szálasi. Devotes special attention to the Horthy era. Examines the "urbanist-folkist" debate from the beginning of the 20th century through the new generation of urbanists in the 1920s-30s, pointing out that the "folkists" provided the ideology for the antisemitic policies of the Horthy era. Discusses the postwar years, up to the revival of the "urbanist-folkist" debate in the early 1990s.
