Let's Have Some Music!
註釋Dr. Donald Hughes, who is Music Advisor to the County of Middlesex, has for many years been concerned with the encouragement of musical activities among the young and this book is the result of his intimate knowledge of the conditions prevailing today. The method he uses to introduce young people to the enjoyment of music is a novel one. Recognising that 'popular' music (folk song and jazz, for example) frequently have more appeal that 'classical' music, and that jazz and its derivations have a special significance for many of the young of today, Dr Hughes ranges from the spiritual to opera, from Burl Ives to Beethoven, from jazz and skiffle to symphony. An important part of each chapter consists of suggestions for practical activity and further study. -- Jacket description.
