註釋The Task Force on Greater Montreal was essentially concerned with how responsibility for planning and management within the region's metropolitan areas should be shared among the various levels of government. The Task Force published a final report covering a variety of planning, transportation, economic, social, environment, and governance issues, and made proposed a future vision for Montreal and its region. The Canadian Urban Institute organized a conference to bring the Task Force's work to the attention of those interested in the future of the Greater Toronto Area. Conference presentations and discussions brought out many of the lessons that the Montreal exercise offers to those contemplating the Toronto region's future. This report is a slight abridgement of the conference proceedings. It includes panelist reactions to the Task Force report and a summary of the principal Task Force recommendations.
