Updating and illustrating a tale retold by a Czech folklorist

Czech artist Jan Jedlicka (born 1944) combines his illustrative photographs and drawings with the traditional Slavic tale We Three Brothers by Karel Jaromír Erben (1811-70) to produce an unconventional modernization whose charm and moral still have an uncanny resonance today.
