Meanwhile, Illumina, daughter of the king of the salamanders, is chosen by the Angelic Council as another candidate for the crossover. As they grow up as humans, neither will understand their connection with the other, magical realm. David is a landscape gardener. He lives in a quiet Midlands village, where he is visited by his young nephew, Daniel. Returning to live in the village, having left during her childhood, is Eva, a meteorologist. strange experiencies as the eternal kingdom reaches out to touch their lives once more. As the couple become closer they confide in one another, telling of unearthly happenings that can be traced back to their respective childhoods. They begin to realise that they both have a link to the other world.
