Abstract: "As the number and diversity of web-based applications grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to manage their performance. This paper introduces a variety of metrics that we have found to be particularly effective for identifying the cause of performance problems in web-based applications. Three classes of metrics are described: response time components, efficiency measures, and indicators of the degree of concurrent activity."
