The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) was created by the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC) to enhance regional environmental cooperation, reduce potential trade and environmental conflicts and promote the effective enforcement of environmental law. This annual report includes reports on its programs (Environmental Conservation; Protecting Human Health and the Environment; Environment, Trade and Economy; Enforcement Cooperation and Environmental Law; Information and Public Outreach; and Public Participation), special reports and citizen submissions, highlights of Government initiatives to implement the Agreement for Canada, Mexico and the United States, parties obligations under the NAAEC, and a financial review.
