註釋Tela ignea Satanae, a compilation of six polemical anti-Christian works written by Jewish authors was published by the Christian Hebraist Johann Christoph Wagenseil, professor of Oriental languages at the University of Altdorf. ‡b As described by Marvin J. Heller, The seventeenth-century Hebrew book (Leiden: Brill, ©2011), the six works were intended "for use in Jewish-Christian disputations and controversies," published to aid Christian ministries in countering Jewish arguments denying the divinity of Christ. With the exception of the 1644 Nizzahon, these titles had not been printed previously. "In addition to Nizzahon, the other titles include the Karaite scholar Isaac ben Abraham Troki's Hizzuk Emunah, and Toldot Jeshu, a negative and, from a Christian perspective, highly blasphemous account of the life of the Christian Messiah" (page xli).
