Jorge Guinle
註釋Jorge Guinle is one of the most important late 20th century artists born in Brazil. His skill in the use of colors lifted him to iconic status. His works, though representative of contemporary Brazilian art have not been well documented. Jorge Guinle, alongside Antonio Dias, Cicero Dias, Iberé Camargo are contemporary masters. His untimely death in 1987, left only 500 oil on canvas paintings and hundreds of designs, these, although very important, little is known of them. Guinle is part of the Generation 80, having participated in the famous exhibition of Parque Lage that created a rupture and caused the return to painting. Guinle was an icon to his peers and has remained so among the young artists of today. The book also contains an anthology of the texts that the artist wrote which provide insight into his work and the period of time.
