Praying with Paul
註釋God wills that all men shall partake of the "excellency of the knowledge of Christ." But, alas, so few do. Perhaps the reason is that not many know the way. This, I have found, is the burden of Paul's prayers in Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians. Nine times in the five prayers recorded here the apostle employs the word "know" or a derivative thereof to project his consuming passion in behalf of the churches. Praying with Paul is a study of these prayers with a view toward aiding the desirous in their quest for the knowledge of God. In them, it will be seen, is revealed the most glorious heights attainable for the followers of the Master. And at the same time the pathway to these heights is graciously unveiled. - Preface
