The Netherlands Constitution, 1848-1998
註釋In 1848, after a 'bloodless coup', important constitutional reforms occurred in the Netherlands. These constitutional reforms have clearly had enduring value since the Constitution of 1848 and is still the basis of Dutch parliamentary democracy today. The Netherlands Constitution of 1848 not only laid the foundation for the parliamentary system, but t also caused many fierce debates between liberals and conservatives. In this book the 150th anniversary of the Netherlands Constitution of 1848 is viewed from a critical perspective, reflecting on the relation between Protestantism and the constitution. It attempts to place constitutional and political changes in the Netherlands in a more far-reaching perspective.
