“Escape ”is a non-fiction book based on a true story. Lily was born into a peasant family plagued by violence and extreme poverty in a remote mountainous area. Her father was a village chief with a contradictory personality and failed business ventures who did not like coming home, while her mother, long subjected to various criticisms and oppression, was weak and full of resentment. From the age of ten, Lily became the real 'parent' to her three younger siblings, managing the family's affairs in practice.

At fourteen, Lily was forced to drop out of school due to the inability to pay tuition. At fifteen, driven by the yearning for a better life, she hastily got engaged. At seventeen, she bravely escaped from her unwanted marriage despite facing much opposition. 

Thereafter, Lily encountered more challenges: societal prejudice, malice and harm from others, and nearly falling into a trap……
