註釋Growing Up in New Zealand is a new longitudinal study following the growth and development of children in New Zealand, from pregnancy until aged 21 years old. This first report introduces the project, including the study design, participants, and implementation. For Wave 1, the main cohort of 6,822 women and 4401 of their partners were interviewed in 2010, during pregnancy or just after the child's birth. An additional smaller cohort of 200 families were also recruited, known as Leading Light: Roopu Piata. This report also provides findings from this first survey, concerning demographic and family characteristics, diet, smoking and alcohol use during pregnancy, and plans for early care and parental leave.
