Spirits in the Trees
註釋This collection of poetry seeks to evoke the greatest depth of feeling with the fewest words possible. Section 1, "Practicing For My Private Lesson," is about female sexuality and a girl morphing into a woman without apologies for sexual freedom. In section 2, "Reverie," the poems are more dreamlike and fanciful; they're about everything from natural healing to a tea party with a white rabbit. Section 4 (yes 4), "The Homecoming," deals with family ties and the joys and tragedies of living and dying. The final section, "Spirits In The Trees," reflects the author's spiritual and meditational experiences, and the ways they have led her to think about death and dying, the nature of reality and who we are. In the middle of the book, in a section all its own, is a single poem titled, "At The Edge," about the three Sayed children who were kidnapped from their home in Pennsylvania on November 24, 2013 by their father, Majed Sayed, and taken to Saudi Arabia. The author chose to do what she could by making this book a fundraiser to aid the children's return to America. All profits will go to establish a fund for the children's mother, Jessica Socling, for international legal counsel and whatever else she may need. For more information visit dianasolomonwriter.com.
