Science in the Art of Osteopathy
註釋An exploration of the way osteopaths aim to move their patients from suffering, ill-health and disease towards health and wellness. It opens by looking at some of the concepts of health and disease that osteopaths use when analysing their patients. It then goes on to discuss homeostasis and the role of biomechanics of body tissue within health and disease, with consideration given to the ways in which pathological processes can disrupt these tissues. Drawing on these related concepts, the book then discusses how osteopaths make their decisions regarding evaluation, treatment and management and presents a variety of treatment options with the expected prognoses of various conditions and cases. Case studies are used to demonstrate the efficacy of osteopathy for a wide range of conditions, Importantly they are used to show that osteopathy is not confined to musculo-skeletal symptoms, But ranges across all ages and a variety of medically diagnosed conditions.
