لقد حاول الإنسان أن يكشف أسرار تلك الخوارق ليُقلِّدها، فاستعان بالسحرة وبالمنجمين والكهنة ولكنه باء بالفشل، لأنَّ المعجزات كانت خارقة للعادة، أي أنَّها تأتي مخالفة لقوانين الكون في زمنها فهي من الله تعالى، ولا ينتج عنها إلا الخير، ولا يمكن إبطالها. أمَّا السحر فإنَّه يحدث بحسب بعض قوانين الكيمياء والفيزياء مثل السرعة لخداع البصـر، أو يحدث باستعانة السحرة بالجن والشياطين ومخلوقات وكائنات البعد الخامس، والسحر لا يصدر منه خير، ويمكن إبطاله، قال تعالى: (... ولا يُفلحُ الساحرُ حيثُ أتى)(طه:69).
