註釋
Geoff Plunkett and William Stokes began corresponding after Geoff Plunkett published a book on the firebombing of the Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub in Brisbane. William Stokes was a central witness to incidents relating to the Whiskey Au Go Go murders. Before his death in September 2022, Stokes was acknowledged as the last credible witness to the 1973 Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub firebombing. As someone who had direct knowledge of corrupt police, and who knew the identity of the Whiskey perpetrators, he was considered a key witness at the Whiskey inquest which came before Queensland State Coroner Terry Ryan in February 2022. The fact that Stokes was able to provide details of the Whiskey events before his death is all the more remarkable given the circumstances of the 1974 murder of Barbara McCulkin and her two daughters.
