Coaching Teeball in a New Environment
註釋In the 1970s in Australia, Tee Ball was almost unknown. In 1976, a Baseball devotee with the help of the author and other members of the local baseball club began to create a Tee Ball League based on the American Little League system. The members of the new league had to be taught all about the game from the very beginning. Our author began the league president in its second year , developing it into a league of over 200 players on his retirement from the presidency in 1983. During that time he took on the role of chief coach and umpire and with help of others developed a manual designed to train each official about their role. Having coached, played and umpired baseball, he used that experience to write much of the coaching advice. For the Baseball purists, there may be suggestions in the coaching advice that they may want to dispute. But it is important to remember 95% of the parents and their children were new to the game.So the book details the coaching advice to Team coaches, team mothers, umpires, and scorers. Then it looks at how to teach the skills of the game to the players e. g. using a glove. To cap off the book, advice is given on fielding and batting tactics as well base running.
