註釋New and precise information on the species diversity, ecological distribution and population structure of the Hydrophiinae on the west coast of Sabah is presented. The study location was in Pulau Tiga and its adjacent areas, of about 3,000 km2. Eleven species of hydropiines from 277 specimens were caught in this study compared to 18 specied of hydropiines found in Borneo. The three dominant species were Lapemis curtus, Aipysurus eydouxii and Hydrophis brokii and the uncommon species were Hydrophis klossi and Preascutata viperina. Like most of the previous studies, L. curtus dominated the samples and this may be due to its wide range of food resources preferences while P. viperina was a new record in Sabah.
