註釋John Lee Jones was born 18 May 1841 in St. Helens, Lancashire, England, the son of John Pidding Jones and Margaret Lee. The family came to the United States on 9 September 1848. There were two children, John Lee and Joseph William a younger brother. Landing in New Orleans, they went to St. Louis. On 15 April 1851 they started out to Utah. John Lee married Rachel Simkins on 13 Jan 1862, and married secondly Betty Mardsen Walker in 1878. He died at the age of 93 in January 1935.
