George Boyd, Sr. (1691-1731) was born in Ireland and settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Some descendants moved to Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere. One descendant, John Coleman Boyd (1802-1861), was born in Jasper County, Georgia and moved to Alabama. Includes some information on other Boyds of the South.
