Marcus Sendlinger
註釋In his art, Marcus Sendlinger deals with images and the scope for interpretation that they offer. Urban life – both the urban abyss and urban beauty – provides the material for his work which he then samples, abstracts and reforms: crossings based on geometric shapes, patterns and grids, surfaces and shapes superimposed on one another in which diagonal axes are used as a compositional framework and achromatic colours like grey, white and black contrast with yellow, red or purple. With this transfer, he re-contextualises meaning. By dealing with the phenomena of civilisation, he addresses the many facets of the present and turns it into a new, personal narrative. This publication presents four related painting series, augmented by Sendlinger's sculptures made from non-art materials, which he places in an artistic context. English and German text.
