Appointment to William Aiken Owens to Serve as Visitor at West Point
註釋Copy of a telegraph from John B. Floyd, secretary of war to Colonel W.A, Owens, Barnwell, South Carolina, appointing him "visitor to Military Academy at West Point." Includes a note saying that the telegraph "was delivered to Col William Aiken Owens at Barnwell S.C. by a man on horse-back from Augusta GA. Col Owens, a grandson of Honorable James Overstreet member of the 17th Congress was solicitor of the Southern (SC) District at that time, he died the next year 1859."
