Effects of Fire on Temperate Forests: Northeastern United States
註釋Throughout the Northeast the effects of fires on natural vegetation have been and are highly variable. Differences in fire intensity, fire frequency, depth of the forest floor, and season of fire occurrence are only some of the factors that produce great variations in effects. A certain fire regime results in covers of grasses, sedges, or forbs, while another regime in the same general region favors one of several compositions of forest stands. Other substantial effects include monetary losses in destroyed buildings, village evacuations, and killed standing trees.
