註釋John Leavitt was born in 1608 in England. He emigrated in 1628 and settled in Massachusetts. He married Mary Lovet in 1637. They had five children. He married Sarah Gilman, daughter of Edward Gilman and Mary Clark, 16 December 1646. They had eight children. He died 20 November 1691 in Hingham, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Utah and Nevada.
